Come explore the wild rivers and gorges of the North Shore - in the winter!! January thru March offers a unique combination of ice, snow, and sun conditions that provide excellent travel opportunities for those who want to explore the unique rivers and gorges along the North Shore of Lake Superior. We will travel through deep gorges, duck into caves etched out over thousands of years, and poke around in rock formations generally inaccessible to humans except for during these few precious weeks. We will use teachable moments to identify flora, fauna and geology. All ages and most abilities welcome as we personalize the route and pace to your needs. Location depends on conditions, snowshoes provided.
Regular excursions: 2-3 hr. trip (9:00-12:00 and 1:00-4:00) on a river within 45 min. of Two Harbors. Adults: $40. Kids 12 and under: $20.
Long Excursion: 6 hr. (9:00-3:00) trip on the best river gorge we can find between Two Harbors and Grand Marais at the time of the trip. Call to check for available dates. Private groups only: $250.00 per group.
